ANNOUNCES PURCHASE OF DEFIANCE METAL PRODUCTS<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>All jobs to be retained; focus is on more customer benefits and growing expanded company<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>MAYVILLE, Wis. \u2013 Mayville Engineering Company, Inc. (MEC) today announced it has acquired Defiance Metal Products (DMP), an Ohio-based manufacturer of metal products for the commercial vehicle, agriculture, construction, and military industries, through a private stock purchase. As a result of the acquisition, DMP will become a member of the Employee Owned MEC family.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>DMP, which is headquartered in Defiance, OH., is a full-service metal fabricator and value-added provider with two facilities in the Defiance, Ohio area, one in Heber Springs, Arkansas and another in Bedford, Pennsylvania. MEC is employee owned, has sixteen facilities in five different states, Wisconsin, Michigan, Virginia, South Carolina and Mississippi and provides a broad range of prototyping, production manufacturing, fabricating, tube forming, coating and assembly services to a variety of markets including commercial vehicles, on and off-road recreational vehicles, agricultural, construction, military, turf care, mining, medical and industrial.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThis acquisition brings together two great companies into one great team,\u201d said Robert Kamphuis, chairman, president and CEO of MEC. \u201cDMP and MEC both have long histories, blue-chip customers and a talented and committed workforce. We\u2019re delighted to welcome DMP\u2019s employees to the MEC family, and we\u2019re excited to work together to keep growing our expanded company.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Steve Mance will continue post acquisition as president of DMP, a MEC company and will be involved in integrating the two companies. It is anticipated that all of DMP\u2019s 975 employees will remain with the organization, and no changes are expected in the foreseeable future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe are very excited about this acquisition and what it means for our employees and our customers,\u201d Mance said. \u201cBoth DMP and MEC are outstanding companies with solid corporate values and great employees that will be important for the future. MEC is clearly a strategic long-term investor that is excited about growing the combined company. This acquisition strengthens our joint future and enhances our ability to compete for the long-term.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Kamphuis said the result of the acquisition is a stronger, better company. \u201cMEC and DMP combined create greater customer and industry diversification, providing more products and processes through an expanded geographic footprint. Overall, two great companies become one great team.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The acquisition is effective immediately.
